WAFA thumps Medeama SC. In a 9 Goal Thriller in Sogakofe.

West African Football Academy (WAFA) striker Lomotey Daniel’s haul against Medeama SC on Match Day 7 in the ongoing Ghana Premier League produced a 5-4 victory at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakofe.



It's was raining goals, the opener came through Lomotey in just six minutes through a backheel.

Midfielder Augustine Boakye who picked the ball from the middle dribbled past two Medeama players in front of the goalpost but wasted the chance as he played a shot in the air.



WAFA were at their best and dominated play in the first half as winger Godwin Agbevor produced the second goal in the 31st minute. 

Five minutes later Lomotey found the back of the net again twice in the 36th and 45 plus 1 minute before recess.

Medeama SC came back strong in the second half as they put pressure on WAFA, referee Daniel Laryea awarded Medeama a penalty in the 58th minutes after defender Konadu Yiadom brought down a Medeama player in the penalty box. 

Substitute Mohammed Abass elected himself to take the penalty and beautifully slotted the ball into the net.

The penalty which destabilized the academy boys brought life into the Medeama lad as Number 23 shirted, Rashid Nortey produced two goals consecutively in the 63rd and 68th minutes respectively.



Daniel Lomotey scored his fourth goal on the day by taping in a loose ball in the 80th minutes to put the game beyond Medeama SC.

Substitute Justice Blay’s goal in the 84th minute for Medeama ended the game at 5-4 in favour of WAFA.

Daniel Lomotey was adjudged NASCO man of the match after scoring four goals in a nine-goal thriller.
